Compassion in a time of need

Every call we face is someone’s worst day so our entire team treats our patients with the compassion and care that we want to be treated with on our worst day.

We’ve collected some patient stories below, and if you have one to share click here to send us a message. We would love to hear from you!

On February 19th I had a respiratory incident. My husband called the VRS and they responded immediately. As it turned out, they had to pull over on I-90 to do an emergency intubation. They went over and beyond and saved my life. I’d like to recognize Christopher Douglas, Gerard Cuomo, Michael Turek, and Eugene Smith. I can’t thank you all enough.

Thank you for your professionalism and care on the night of December 25. When a member of our family hit her head and exhibited worrying symptoms. We so appreciated your training, how quickly you answered the call, and your assessment. The “patient” is fine and has had no further symptoms from the fall. From now on, if she sits on a stool, she has to wear a helmet! Happy New Year and Thank you.

On March 29, my husband and I stopped in and had him checked out for a prior stroke. Ariel was on duty, along with her team ,and they did an excellent job of evaluating him and transporting him to Albany Med. He had carotid surgery on Monday and is doing fine. Thank you for your assistance.
